Message from Head of Macquarie English

Welcome to Macquarie English! Where do I start with what our college can offer you: a hugely rewarding language learning experience, both in and outside the classroom to our extensive excursion programme, “Kangaroo Club” and from an academic perspective, direct articulation to no fewer than 10 universities, as well as TAFE’s and vocational training institutes.

At Macquarie English, we are proud to be able to offer you such a variety of opportunities, academically, socially and professionally.

Let’s look at the academic side:
•    classes at every level taught by well-qualified, highly-experienced teachers in well-appointed classrooms with the latest technology.
•    clear pathway from Beginner to Advanced, with regular assessment and feedback.
•    a well-established High School Preparation (HSP) programme, the most effective way to develop the necessary study skills to achieve success in an Australian high school.
•    opportunities to develop across all skill components, from Listening and Speaking to Reading and Writing, as well as in vocabulary and grammar.

Now, to the social side:
•    mixed nationality classes, enabling students to broaden their horizons and learn about far-flung places they may only have dreamed of
•    our highly-regarded “Kangaroo Club” excursion programme, providing students with the chance to see all of what Sydney has to offer, from the world-famous Opera House and Harbour Bridge to the sensational Taronga Zoo and Darling Harbour attractions.
•    like soccer??!! Our league-winning Macquarie Lions play regular matches in a Sydney competition. You can be part of it!

Professionally:
•    pass our highly-developed and intensive EAP course and you could be studying at one of the 10 universities Macquarie English has direct articulation with.
•    Elective classes focussing on computer skills and writing development among others  – how do you write a formal letter of application?
•    Counselling and feedback from teachers and the Academic Manager to ensure you are maximising your time with us. If you have doubts about where you are headed, our highly-qualified and personable team can help you make decisions that put you on track for professional success.

High-quality language learning programmes, top-notch teaching staff, excellent support services, social and professional development opportunities and much more, Macquarie English is the place for you!
We look forward to welcoming you to our college very soon.
